OVERVIEW

〈ECHOES OF ART〉──過去の巨匠たちの声に現代のビジュアルクリエイターが耳を傾け、時を超えたアートの美しさを新たな視点と技法で蘇らせます。
第一弾は「オマージュ北斎」。浮世絵、漫画、挿絵とあらゆる分野の第一線で活躍した日本を象徴する絵師・葛飾北斎にインスパイアされ、画家、漫画家、イラストレーターという3つの異なるジャンルの15名のクリエイターが新作を発表。全23点をWEBサイト「月刊美術プラス」にて販売します。
このプロジェクトは総合出版社として雑誌・コミックからビジネス・文芸まで手がける株式会社実業之日本社の呼びかけに、日本のアートシーンとともに歩んできた美術誌『月刊美術』発行元の株式会社サン・アートと、新進気鋭のイラストレーターやアニメーターとパートナーシップを結ぶ株式会社R11Rが応えることで実現した初めての企画です。
古典の模倣ではない、新しい解釈と創造の融合が、アートの新たな地平を拓きます。

〈ECHOES OF ART〉 – Modern visual creators listen to the voices of past masters, reviving the timeless beauty of art through new perspectives and techniques.
The first installment is titled *Homage to Hokusai*. Inspired by Katsushika Hokusai, a symbolic Japanese artist who excelled in fields such as ukiyo-e, manga, and illustrations, 15 creators from three different genres—painters, manga artists, and illustrators—are unveiling new works. A total of 23 pieces will be available for purchase on the website "Gekkan Bijutsu Plus."
This project is the first of its kind, realized through the collaboration of Jitsugyo no Nihonsha, a comprehensive publisher that handles everything from magazines and comics to business and literature, Sun Art Co., Ltd., the publisher of the art magazine *Gekkan Bijutsu*, which has grown alongside the Japanese art scene, and R11R inc., a partner with up-and-coming illustrators and animators.
This is not mere imitation of the classics, but a fusion of new interpretation and creativity, opening new horizons in the world of art.

葛飾北斎（1760-1849年）は、江戸時代を代表する画家であり、世界的にも有名な浮世絵師です。
彼の作品は、深い洞察と独自の視点を持ち合わせ、自然や人々の生活を鮮やかに捉えています。特に、「富嶽三十六景」シリーズの中の「神奈川沖浪裏」は、日本を象徴する画像として国内外で広く認識されています。

北斎は生涯で数多くの作品を手がけ、そのスタイルは絶えず進化し続けました。彼の芸術は、非常に詳細で革新的な技術を用いたことで知られており、その画法は「北斎漫画」としても知られるスケッチ集にも表れています。これらのスケッチは、動植物、風景、人物像といった多岐にわたる題材を描き、後の多くの芸術家たちに影響を与えました。

KATSUSHIKA HOKUSAI

Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) was a painter representative of the Edo period and is also a globally renowned ukiyo-e artist. His works are characterized by deep insight and a unique perspective, vividly capturing nature and the lives of people. In particular, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" from his "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" series is widely recognized both domestically and internationally as an iconic image of Japan.

Throughout his life, Hokusai produced a multitude of works, and his style continuously evolved. He is known for his highly detailed and innovative techniques, which are also reflected in his sketch collection known as "Hokusai Manga." These sketches, encompassing a wide range of subjects including animals, landscapes, and human figures, have influenced many artists who followed.

His enduring creativity and constant pursuit of new expressions remain an inspiration to contemporary artists. Hokusai's art continues to offer more than just aesthetic enjoyment; it provides deep emotion and inspiration to its viewers.
